Texas Community College Technology Forum 2010 Call for Presentations

Converge and the Center for Digital Education request your contribution in the planning of the 2010 Texas Community College Technology Forum scheduled for Nov. 5, 2010 at Collin College.

A special partnership between the North Texas Regional Community College Consortium, the Center for Digital Education and the Convergence Technology Center, the Texas Community College Technology Forum has allowed attendees to network and learn about the latest in administrative and instructional technology. 

Running concurrently, with the Texas Community College Technology Forum will be the Third Annual Green IT Summit, hosted by Convergence Technology Center, a regional center of excellence funded by the National Science Foundation. This can’t miss event will be held as a special professional development track throughout the day.

We are inviting you to submit a presentation for this exciting event! This informative event will feature presentations on the key technology issues facing affecting Texas higher education institutions today.  The target audiences for this event are classroom faculty, and administrative, technical and general staff.

Please note:  submissions are limited to public sector only.

Below is a list of topics of interest for 2010.  Feel free to submit a topic that covers one of the following, or select your own!

•    Cloud Computing 
•    “Green" technology in the classroom                                                           
•    Web 2.0
•    Virtualization                                                            
•    Video/flash course development and delivery technology                                                           
•    Instructional design
•    Open Source education content                               
•    Handheld Technologies - E-readers, calculators, MP3 players, etc.
•    Online presentation tools
•    Best practices and applications for online learning
•    Cell phone technology – monitoring, supporting, educational value, best practices
•    Instructional Technology
•    Visual Programming/Problem Solving Tools
•    Job opportunities for students graduating with engineering and technologies degrees  
•    Learning Management Systems

This is your chance to host a session and get live feedback! Please enter your session submission in the form below. 

Length of proposal should be no more than one page. Please cut-and-paste the text below, and use to submit your presentation:

 

  1. Session title: More than 10 words will be edited
  2. Session description: 50 to 75 words to be included in the conference guide
  3. Speaker(s): As you would like it to appear in the agenda for each speaker (please repeat for each speaker):
    • Name
    • Title
    • Organization title
    • Phone number
    • E-mail address
  4. Session format: i.e., single speaker, panel, roundtable discussion
  5. Audio visual requirements (note: speakers are responsible for providing their own laptops)
  6. Target audience: i.e., faculty, administration, technical, general
  7. Main contact (one person designated as the coordinator of this session: name, title, organization, phone number, e-mail address)

Sessions are roughly one hour in length. Presenters should plan to speak during the first 45 minutes and allow time for Q&A for the remaining 15 minutes.

Proposals are due by August 13, 2010
