Last week, 6,700 people from 41 different countries gathered in the Anaheim Convention Center to talk about higher education IT at the EDUCAUSE 2010 conference. And an estimated 2,500 people followed the sessions live online.

At the conference, universities, software companies and other organizations shared how technology is impacting higher education. Quite a few sessions focused on mobile learning, cloud computing and open source.

Staley, the director of the Goldberg Center for Excellence in Teaching at The Ohio State University, and Dennis A. Trinkle, provost and chief academic officer of Harrison College, shared their thoughts on the changes.

To hear about some really mind-blowing stuff, check out the general session "Distance v. Distributed Education: Bringing the Campus to the Student." In this session, you'll learn about the Fab labs that MIT started throughout the world.
