University of North Florida Delivers Data Efficiently

The entire network at the University of North Florida (UNF) can be traced back to one building: a central hub with servers and switches linked by fiber optics to hundreds of network switches and computers across campus. So when Steve Lyon, the university’s assistant director of networking, learned his previous network vendor was ceasing its hardware and software support, he knew a new solution was necessary.

“If there was a problem, there would be no bug fix because the vendor was not going to support the network hardware and software,” he said. “If we don’t have that support, we have nothing.”
