Sustainable business is not just a hot trend that will die after a few years; it's here to stay, a recent University of North Florida grad said. And colleges are taking notice.
Brittany Rae Duvall uses the green knowledge that she learned at UNF to pitch plans for Target, where she works as an executive team leader.
"I think a lot of people thought that this whole going green is a trend," Duvall said. "It's not. It's our future. It's only going to benefit a business in the long run."
Business school professors are telling students to be aware of their environment and learn to take care of it, reports The Florida Times-Union. Their universities are creating new classes and degrees to help students be aware of their environment, such as the business college at Jackson University, which is creating an interdisciplinary degree in sustainability and courses in green marketing and accounting.
