Summary:

Geo-science summer interns (which can include professionals, students, retirees, etc.) participate in a variety of geo-science-related projects on BLM-managed public lands in Oregon and Washington. Projects can include, but not be limited to, research, resource management, inventory, monitoring, and visitor interpretation/education. Working conditions can include physically challenging field environments and the operation of a variety of computer and scientific field equipment. The activities undertaken through this agreement will provide valuable on-the-ground experience to geo-sciences student interns seeking to gain knowledge, skills and abilities in geo-science-related work on active public land science projects. Interns' work will contribute to successful natural resource management of public lands while also supporting visitor outreach and interpretation for the protection of sensitive public resources. This program has no matching requirements; however, applicants offering matching funds are more likely to be funded.
