Applications are accepted throughout the year. The Board meets in May or June annually. The first step for a request is to submit a letter no longer than three pages which includes the background of the organization; need for the services or project; project plan; benefits of the project; plans for evaluation; and budget.

The Edwin W. and Catherine M. Davis Foundation's focus is on solving social problems and creating opportunities for disadvantaged peoples. The Foundation's programmatic interests include charitable, religious, scientific, higher education, social services, mental health, the arts, seniors, environment, youth, housing, and music. The foundation will accept applications for the following purposes: annual campaigns, continuing support, operating budgets, scholarship funds, endowment funds, fellowships, research.
