Summary:

Since 1970, area residents have been turning to The Community Foundation of Greater Lafayette to make their philanthropic giving as effective as possible. Individuals, families, businesses, and organizations create permanent charitable funds that help the region meet the challenges of changing times. The Foundation uses the distributions to award grants each year to many of the humanitarian, educational, and cultural organizations within the community. The mission of The Community Foundation of Greater Lafayette is to inspire, nurture, and practice philanthropy, stewardship, and leadership in the communities we serve. The Board of Directors has identified the following funding priorities: Education, Children/Youth, Health, Diversity, Physical Environment, and Arts and Culture. Priority is given to projects that reach as many people as possible, improve the ability of organizations to serve the community over the long-term, serve the Greater Lafayette area, and are run by nonprofit organizations. The Discretionary grants are awarded in three tiers: (1) Tier One: for proposals requesting over $15,000; (2) Tier Two: for proposals requesting between $7,500 and $14,999; and (3) Tier Three: for proposals requesting less than $7,500. Additionally, the Foundation awards Field of Interest Grants in the areas of: Children's Needs, Music Education for Disadvantaged Youth, and Community Beautification. The purpose and objectives of this program are very specific in nature. The distinct subject matter of this funding opportunity necessitates a thorough review of the official program guidance referenced at the URL provided in the contact section of this summary.
