The deadlines for submittal are March 31st and September 30th. The foundation will notify applicants by June 30th for those proposals received after September 30th and before March 31st, and by December 30th for proposals received after March 31st and before September 30th. The Foundation will review only one proposal per year per organization. The Foundation requires that an organization that receives funding for two successive years take a one year hiatus before reapplying.
The Horne Family Foundation's mission is twofold: First, to preserve and maintain the legacy of the Horne Family by supporting various community efforts in the Massachusetts Merrimack Valley region and in southern New Hampshire. Second, the foundation seeks to find opportunities designed to augment progress and improve the future by supporting initiatives in the areas of conservation, education, health, economic stability and environmental sustainability both in the national arena and on a global level. The Foundation's mission is purposely broad, enabling it to support the work of many nonprofits that focus on improving the future for communities on a local, national and international basis. The majority of the Foundation's grants are made in categories that are in alignment with the core values of the foundation: conservation, education, health and human services, the arts, wildlife preservation, international development and relief and environmental sustainability.
