East Tennessee Foundation's (ETF) field-of-interest and affiliate funds support a competitive grantmaking process in broad charitable areas including arts and culture, community development, youth-at-risk or a particular East Tennessee county (Affiliate Funds) within the Foundation's 25-county service area. Field-of-interest and affiliate fund grants are offered annually or bi-annually and made through a competitive application and review process. A calendar of competitive grants is available at http://www.easttennesseefoundation.org/library/CalendarofCompetitiveGrants-09Deadlines_1230050987.pdf Field-of-Interest Grants include: (1) Arts Fund for East Tennessee Grants Program: two year grants ranging from $500 to $6000 support excellence in the arts, expansion of access to the arts, and the connection of artists with each other and with East Tennessee communities (http://www.easttennesseefoundation.org/grants/competitive/artsfund.html); (2) Mount Rest Fund Grants Program: applicants for one-year grants ranging from $1,000 to $10,000 must significantly contribute to the welfare of the women and children of Knoxville and Knox County by addressing one of the following issues: nutrition, health and well-being, education or training for employment (http://www.easttennesseefoundation.org/grants/competitive/mountrest.html); (3) Neighborhoods Small Grants Program: designed to strengthen low-to moderate-income neighborhoods in Knoxville by supporting a wide range of community-based initiatives through grants and technical assistance. Grants are for one year and generally range from $500 to $3,000 (http://www.easttennesseefoundation.org/grants/competitive/nsgp.html); (4) Margaret M & Harley H Wachs Youth Leadership Fund: created for the benefit of young people in Johnson County to provide travel and leadership opportunities that will enhance their knowledge and expand their abilities to become active, visionary leaders of Johnson County communities. One-year grants generally range from $300 to $600 (http://www.easttennesseefoundation.org/grants/competitive/wachs.html); (5) Youth Endowment Grants Program: funds to address problems and issues affecting young people in East Tennessee. The fund's primary goal is to support the development of creative solutions which address behavioral, environmental and other factors that place children and youth at-risk in the region. Youth Endowment grants are two-year grants ranging from $500 to $20,000, and are available in three categories: Institutional Excellence, Creative Solutions, and Early Childhood Intervention (http://www.easttennesseefoundation.org/grants/competitive/youth.html).
