Arthur Brant, Abilene Christian University

Abilene Christian University's mobile learning initiative was recognized this year for its innovative approach to education through technology, by ACUTA, the Association for Information Communications Technology Professionals in Higher Education. ACUTA awarded ACU its most prestigious honor, the award for Institutional Excellence in Information Communications Technology.

Mr. Brant has extensive experience in data networks, network security operations, telephone systems, and cable television systems He is leading ACU’s strategies for a “connected” 21st-century campus.

Dr. Frank Lowney, Senior Director for External Projects and Professor of Educational Foundations in the School of Education, Georgia College & State University

Dr. Frank Lowney is currently Senior Director for External Projects as well as Professor of Educational Foundations in the School of Education at Georgia College & State University (GCSU). Frank's most recent work has been in the area of Educational Podcasting and Mobile Learning (mLearning) an extension of his previous work in teaching and learning on-line, multimedia and educational networking. For over a decade, he has assisted faculty in connecting instructional technologies to educational goals. Frank has also been associated with the Georgia Digital Innovation Group, a collaborative initiative of The University System of Georgia's Advanced Learning Technologies Unit and Georgia College & State University.

John Matthews, Senior Systems Engineer, Alcatel-Lucent

John Mathews has specialized background in networking solutions for higher education.  John was instrumental in the design criteria for ACU’s wireless deployment to support the Connected mobile learning initiative, and he continues to work to ensure usability and scalability for ACU’s students.
