This year's Washington, D.C. Technology and Education Summit, held May 4 at the Newseum, will be anything but typical. Converge and the Washington, D.C. Office of the Chief Technology Officer will bring together an influential group to forge the path of success for D.C. schools in this challenging economy.

The Summit's keynote speaker is Dean Kamen, founder DEKA Research & Development Corp. and FIRST (For Inspiration and Recognition of Science and Technology). His vast knowledge of the physical sciences, combined with his ability to integrate the fundamental laws of physics with the most modern technologies, has led to the development of breakthrough processes and products, such as the Segway and more than 400 U.S. foreign patents and inventions. Kamen will discuss education's role in solving the current domestic economic challenges.
