Karen Cator was introduced today as the U.S. Department of Education's (DOE) Director of Educational Technology, according to the State Educational Technology Director's Association (SETDA).
Jim Shelton, assistant deputy secretary for Innovation and Improvement at the DOE, announced that Cator is assuming this role at the 2009 Leadership Summit and Ed Forum Opening Session this morning.
Cator brings years of experience to the post, as she was most recently the Director of Education Leadership and Advocacy for Apple, and was chair of the Partnership for 21st Century Skills from September 2006 to September 2007.
