Austin became a spring break hotspot for hundreds of Texas teachers, who came to the state capitol to rally for stimulus funds for schools, ABC 13 reports.
The American Federation of Teachers put school employees on buses and hundreds caravanned from all over the state to ask lawmakers to put federal economic stimulus money in classrooms and in the pockets of educators, who haven't received a pay raise in two years.
The stimulus package comes at a critical time as many of the nation's school districts remain stricken with shrinking budget.
