Thinking About Education and Technology |
A vital resource I use when thinking about the future of education is the Map of Future Forces Affecting Education. It is both provocative and useful. This is the product of the 2006-2016 KnowledgeWorks Foundation and the Institute For The Future. It is a bit hard to follow on the screen since you can only see a part at a time, and the printable downloadable need to be pasted together. They stopped sending out hard copies, but they will send copies of their 2020 Forecast, which is equally provocative but is in a different format.
(Note: Some of the discussion is very distressing/upsetting/shocking — such as the Altering Bodies discussions about the brain being a site for alteration and maintenance — but it always good to know what some folks are thinking and talking about.)
