The Digital Education Leadership Conversation (DELC) is a unique education event that unites chief information officers, chief technology officers, state and municipal education executives, policy makers and senior IT industry executives from around the country. Attendees meet with their like-minded peers and focus on the key questions and most significant issues facing K-12 technology executives today.

Join us for a true behind the scenes tour of New Orleans designed by the Center for Digital Education. We’ll be venturing off the beaten path and promise an experience you won’t soon forget. The tour will investigate what happened during Katrina and what still remains to be done over five years later.

A time to meet your peers. The Welcome Reception is the first networking time during DELC. You will have an opportunity to renew acquaintances and make new ones in true southern style.

The 2010 Digital Education Leadership Conversation will focus on highlights from the Center for Digital Education’s research findings as published in the Converge Special Report Series throughout the year.
Conducted through one-on-one interviews, report and research analyses, along with insight provided by education leaders and private sector companies, you’ll get a firsthand look into the latest and most relevant information surrounding:
Education and technology practitioners from the research’s featured jurisdictions will share real-life, “best practice” examples.
This year’s conversation is customized to address your district’s current challenges. The goal for each session is to share best practices, identify challenges and to offer solutions.

A district’s digital infrastructure acts as the campus nervous system keeping the institution operational by collecting data (from PCs, handhelds, POS devices, digital content, etc.) and then processing it into relevant information that is either distributed immediately or stored for future use. In this session, we will discuss instructional delivery, back office business functions, strategic decision making and student support functions.

Digital content is what fulfills the promise for 21st Century learning as we undertake to make learning student-centered and a lifelong endeavor. It can instantly deliver learning experiences that are consistent and engaging. Just as digital content is transforming classroom behavior, so is it causing content providers to look at different ways to produce and market their educational content. This conversation will dive right into digital content’s present time application, as well as explore its “education transformation” promise for the future.
